Brisbane Terminal

DP World Brisbane's facilities are at Fisherman Island Terminal at the mouth of the Brisbane River. The Port of Brisbane is the largest in Queensland and the fastest growing port in Australia. The site completed a comprehensive $250M upgrade in 2014 and is the first of our terminals to become semi-automated. The Fisherman Islands Terminal is a dynamic 7 day, 24 hour operation that offers variety and represents an outstanding opportunity to grow as a professional in Australia’s Logistics and Supply Chain Industry.

About the role

Reporting to the Terminal Engineering Manager, you will provide technical oversight of Terminal equipment with resources and parts scheduling as part of the forward planning for all physical terminal assets.

You will have a data-driven focus on reliability improvements, equipment failure analysis as well as business improvements and change management. With ability to demonstrate proven project delivery experience.

Key accountabilities

This role will require you to:

  • Be responsible for developing, managing and continuously refining the Life Cycle plans for major infrastructure equipment such as automatic stacking cranes, quay cranes and shuttles to focus on reliability and minimal disruption to the business;
  • Project managing programs of maintenance, updates and overhauling of equipment across the terminal using RCM methodologies;
  • Utilise data to performing root cause analysis and improvement initiatives for machine components;
  • Working closely with the Planning and Execution Superintendents to schedule, prioritize and execute maintenance activities, including statutory works;
  • Work with contractors and OEM’s to improve parts and delivery of components;
  • Effectively implement short and long-term work schedules to meet the business needs.

Experience, skills and qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need:
  • At least five years’ experience of hands-on maintenance management with highly developed maintenance planning/scheduling skills in a heavy industry environment, ideally with mobile diesel equipment experience;
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or high-level Trade qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering or maintenance disciplines;
  • A strong exposure to relevant RCM methodologies, data-driven root cause analysis, change management and business improvement systems;
  • Demonstrated delivery of improvement activities resulting in increased performance, cost management and/or resource management;
  • Experience in the use of CMMS applications (Maximo preferred) as well as Office365 applications
  • Strong leadership abilities with the ability to bring a technical & trades workforce along with you as you implement change.
  • Up to date knowledge of OHS & Acts, regulations and codes of practice as risk management procedures;
  • Extensive knowledge of heavy plant and equipment scheduled and unscheduled maintenance management plans and techniques;
  • RCM, RCA, Fault tree, Six Sigma or similar techniques for managing improvements;
  • Sound knowledge of related legislation, plant and equipment regulations.
